Hopefully, this makes it back to the salesperson who just pitched me.

Your persistence got you in the door.
Most salespeople stop reaching out after they fail to get through to the DM a couple of times. Not you. You kept at it.

Your energy was great.
With all the negativity in the world, it was really nice to feel uplifted through our conversation in addition to the fact that your product's features were perceived to be more lethal.

You built a ton of rapport with me.
This took down my guard a little and had me open up more than I would have.

You asked the perfect questions.
Finding out what specific problems you could solve for us was a priority of yours.

You tailored your product to our company.
Showing us how your product gets us closer to reaching our finish line is critical.

All that being said,

you lost me.

You did not come across as the expert.

Based on how robotic you sounded, It was obvious to me you were reading from a script for most of your pitch. The result was I lost confidence in the truth behind your product's potential based on how you sounded.

Most salespeople use a version of a script. I fully support the effectiveness of scripts as long as it's crystal clear you are not reading one to the person you are pitching.

Internalize those lines.
