Sales Myths

Here are 3 common myths of selling:

1. Your prospects mostly care about price.

Sure, speaking about the bottom line is easy to do and has to happen eventually. However, the better job you do to convey value and show them how much their life improves with your service will be how much the price actually matters...or should I say, doesn't matter.

2. Cold Calling is dead.

I've written about this many times and will not go in-depth here again (feel free to reference previous posts). To keep this simple, go ahead and A/B test your cold call conversion rates vs other channels and you may be surprised.

3. Customers don't want to deal with salespeople.

It's unlikely to see the negative perception around salespeople disappearing anytime soon. Furthermore, that desire for a human relationship also will not disappear anytime soon. Salespeople are constantly involved during all parts of the customer journey and will continue to be the driving force behind how most customers make their decisions - emotion.
