This is arguably the biggest obstacle you have on your way to the finish line. You rarely close if there is no trust.

3 steps to ensure you are combating this statistic to reach the sale:

1. Make yourself aware of the above data. Trust is critical in selling, and you have an uphill battle to earn it most of the time.
2. Build trust! Relate, actively listen, build rapport, be the expert....the list goes on and on.
3. Generate referrals! Once you've built trust and sold your product/service...put effort into grabbing referrals. Since they are a recommendation, trust with them may already be there.

Focus on those steps and you'll see results.
