“Perfect” is Powerful

Here's one of my favorite words to use in sales:

"PERFECT"

You can interpret this in many different ways, but try and stay with me.

When you respond with "Perfect", and then start up your next sentence, it automatically makes the prospect feel that whatever they just said (good or bad) is the exact reason why they should continue going along with you.

Here's a quick example:

Objection: "I've only got a few minutes, what's up?"
"Oh okay, so my name is Lee and I..."
VS
"Perfect, so my name is Lee and I..."

This is such a small change, but you are starting to create ideal conditions for them. They are more likely to think that even though they only have a few minutes...they should be speaking with me.

This will only work if you are constantly actively listening to your prospect and completely aware of what's actually going on. Obviously it doesn't always make sense to say perfect, which is why you need to be aware of what's being said to you. You do want to use it as often as you can when it would make sense.

The main point here is this - ALWAYS be aware of the first word your using when responding to someone. That word has a much bigger impact than you may think.
