Push Yourself Above and Beyond

My buddy Matt Grossbard once showed our entire sales team how you always have the ability to push yourself a little more.

His example was incredibly simple and powerful.

Here's what he did -

He brought a salesperson up to the front of the team, and asked them to "take this sticky note and put it as high up on the wall as you possibly can". The salesperson did just that.

He then said, "Now I want you to take this new sticky note, and put it higher this time". The salesperson did just that.

Once again he told the salesperson to "put this third sticky note higher than the previous two ". The salesperson again did just that.

It's not magic.

Matt originally asked the salesperson to put the sticky note as high as they could, but when challenged, they found a way to continue placing it higher.

You get the point here. You have the ability to push yourself above and beyond what is expected. Don't wait for someone to challenge or push you to bring it out.

Just do it.
