Confused, NOT Defensive

Sales tip 101:

Stop sounding defensive.

Regardless of what you’re selling and how good you are at selling it, you cannot avoid the inevitable in sales -

People will give you attitude and disagree with you at times.

You can obviously assume each interaction with your prospects will go well...but we all know that’s not realistic.

So what does this mean for me?

For starters, remember your goal -

To take them to finish line.

Coming off defensive takes you off the quickest route to sales town.

Since it’s so easy to argue back,
You CANNOT let what they are saying/doing impact your emotions that then negatively impact your ability to reach that outcome!

People can easily tell your guard is up, your getting worked up, and you’ve started to defend yourself. It turns your prospects off and all the value goes out the window.

Instead, sound genuinely confused.

You are much more likely to not irritate them AND they are now double guessing their decisions/actions since your confusion is telling them they aren’t making the obvious, right choice.

That’s one of many ways to stay on route.
