No Time for Excuses
Salespeople,
If I could give one piece of advice to anyone looking to close more sales through this difficult time, it would be this:
CONDITION YOUR MINDSET to actually believe the sale will be been made.
Seriously.
At this point, we’ve all already established how unusual of a time this is. That’s old news. It cannot be an excuse anymore.
So...
You will continue falling into one of these two categories:
1. “Man, this is a hard time to sell.
People are unhappy, down and less likely to pick up my calls. They’ll most likely not want to spend money right now and this call probably won’t go well or result in what I want. Why even send this email? I should probably cool off the selling jets...”
2. “Man, what an opportunity this is. Most salespeople are hearing and thinking that you can’t sell right now, and that means I immediately have an edge. People need my company’s service/product now more then ever and I’m going to let my strong empathy skills build immediate rapport and trust right off the bat. I better stay hydrated and ready to rock...”
When you go from a pessimistic to optimistic mindset, a magic switch gets flipped.
Each one of your action’s forward absolutely alters for the better.
That’s the first step to sell more.
