Cold Calling Refresher

Here's a refresher once again on cold calling...

I was on the phone with a salesperson who just said -

"Yeah but these people hate cold calls, that's not going to work."

Here we go again.

To me, that's like saying -

"Yeah but these people hate brushing their teeth, that's not going to work."

Obviously no one likes to do it.

Is it effective?
YES.

So here's your refresher:

None of your prospects like to receive cold calls.

You can't get discouraged to cold call them because they don't like receiving them.

As long as they remain a strong method to speak to decision-makers in a short time period where you can combat objections and convey values as quickly possible...KEEP DOING IT.

This doesn't mean you aren't listening to your customers, or aren't being respectful. This means you will have to make sure you are absolutely on your rapport-building game and delivering value immediately when you start speaking with them.

This goes without saying, but definitely complement your cold calls with other forms of outreach. It only helps.

The negative connotation with cold calling has not and will not go away anytime soon.

Neither should your cold calls.
